Scholarships will be reviewed 2 weeks following the last day of the month and announced.
Vo/Tech Scholarship Eligibility
- Open to the general public
- Open to SC&RA member companies
- Anyone who is currently working or would like to work in the specialized transportation or crane and rigging industry.
- You do not have to be an SC&RA member company employee but all SC&RA company employees are eligible
- Courses or classes should be directly related to acquiring the necessary skills to advance your career in the industry. (For example, diesel mechanics, welding, bookkeeping, driver school, crane operator certification, marketing, accounting)
If you are pursuing a 4-year degree or master's, you are not eligible for the Grant. Please complete the Scholarship application.
Scholarship Application Details
- Course dates must not end prior to the review period or your application will not be considered. Scholarships are not provided for completed courses.
- Applications are accepted throughout the year with deadlines on the last day of every even month (i.e. Aug./Oct./Jan). For example, applications submitted in March and April will be reviewed in May.
- Your application must be submitted by the deadline to be considered eligible.
- You will be required to provide a letter of recommendation to complete your application.
Training and Certification awards through ITI, CICB, Morrow Equipment Company or NCCCO
The SC&RF allots $10,000 - $30,000 annually to all educational assistance for training courses and continuing education courses.
Additionally, there are several training courses we can award through our Partners in Education program.
Partners include:
- Industrial Training International (ITI)
- CICB (Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau)
- National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO)
- Morrow Equipment Company
For a complete list of seats/courses available, please visit the SC&RF Website - www.scr-foundation.org. You will need to indicate the specific partner and course on your application.
Selection & Disbursements:
- Awards range from $500 - $5,000. If your course or class is more than $5,000 please provide information on how you will pay the remaining tuition costs.
- Awards with the Partner organizations are granted in the same round and have the same deadlines as referenced above.
- Winners must register for the course/class within 30 days and confirm with the Foundation. The course must be completed by the dates indicated on the application or the award will be deemed waived.
- Award disbursements are made directly to the school on the student's behalf. Awards/funds are not provided to a company or individual.
